Amazon Best Books of the Month, September 2011: Erin Morgenstern’s dark, enchanting debut takes us to the black and white tents of Le Cirque des Reves, a circus that arrives without warning, simply appearing when yesterday it was not there. Young Celia and Marco have been cast into a rivalry at The Night Circus, one arranged long ago by powers they do not fully understand. Over time, their lives become more intricately enmeshed in a dance of love, joy, deceit, heartbreak, and magic. Author Morgenstern knows her world inside and out, and she guides the reader with a confident hand. The setting and tone are never less than mesmerizing. The characters are well-realized and memorable. But it is the Night Circus itself that might be the most memorable of all. –Chris Schluep
To be honest, it took me a little while to get into The Night Circus. Worth it! I’m glad I didn’t give up. But it’s unusual, enchanting though it takes a little while to cast its spell. Romance readers looking for something a little different, but still a romance, might give The Night Circus a try. http://erinmorgenstern.com/

Interesting Sherri! Not something I would have ordinarily considered reading, so thank you for sharing. Currently, since I am ADD I am reading Balck list by Brad Thor and Lover Mine, JR Ward.
Happy Reading to all.
As for what I’m reading … galleys!
Well, that’s always cool. When you get sick of reading your own words, you know you have a book coming out! Even better when you read it over and over and don’t even mind.
So glad to hear this! I bought it on audio, but haven’t yet listened to it. Was thinking about doing it next … and I think you convinced me!
I’m not usually a fan of audio books but I think this is one that would really be great to hear.
I’ve never heard of this book–thanks for the tip, Sherri. Right now I’m reading In Style magazine. I know, I know–but it’s got Halle Berry on the cover
Suetonius Augustus ‘The Twelve Caesars’ I get to start reading it today since my husband has finally finished it. This was wrote not long after the death of the last Caesar, recounting many of the little known facts, horrors and other tidbits about the lives of the twelve Caesars, the first of course is Julius. If you ever saw the BBC production of I, Claudius, it was based on this book by Robert Graves, the life and death of Claudius Caesar. Those Romans were scary disgusting people. I love it!
Never heard of Night Circus. Will give it a try one day. I also want to find a copy of The Last Girl by Kitty Thomas. It sounds very exotically erotic and uber dark. Not my normal type of read. I usually prefer historical type books either romance history fantasy suspense thriller horror etc.
Thanks, Ti, I will look up The Last Girl. And The Twelve Caesars sounds good, too. Those Romans were something, yes.
