Excerpt Wednesday! This week, we’re sharing a book that most of us have read and enjoyed, Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl.
I saw it recommended as a hot beach read by Publisher’s Weekly, and then I started seeing it everywhere. As soon as I picked it up, I was hooked, couldn’t put it down.
Here’s an excerpt! Maybe you’ll get hooked, too.

I saw Julia post about it on her FaceBook so I put in a request for it from my library. There were over 100 hold requests! Good thing there are lots of other books out there for me to read while I wait.
I thought it was so well done. Lots of stuff I didn’t see coming.
I am actually skimming through a very old regional cookbook with forgotten recipes from England right now. I am just (believe it or not) too tired to read lately. See? Another reason to seek new employment. I am no longer me. I feel lost without reading at least once every couple of days and it has been forever since I picked up a novel to read.
You need to get your reading time back! Wishing all good thoughts for you, Ti.
This was the last book I read and I couldn’t put it down. It was compelling and unsettling–not my usual type of read (you know me–romance, romance, romance, LOL!). But I’m really glad I stepped outside my box for this one.
Jacquie, I really wasn’t sure this book would be for you. I’m glad you gave it a chance and loved it! It really was hard to put down. I am going to look up more Gillian Flynn books now, too.
I haven’t read it yet, but really do want to.
I think you’re the only one of us who hasn’t picked it up, Dee. Don’t you want to fit in? Peer pressure book buying.
