Summer. My ice cream craving is in high gear. Fortunately, I discovered my love for frozen yogurt and some great fro-yo places in my area, fewer calories and delightfully satisfying. Some of it is even lactose or sugar or fat free. But sometimes, you want the real deal.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? Do you like it hard or soft serve? Or maybe you prefer gelato? Or, do you not like ice cream?

I’m so jealous you have a fro-yo place near you, Sherri! The closest one to us is 45 minutes away (in the son’s college town) and every time I visit him I have to go there. It’s called Menchies and they have the BEST flavors!
)
I also love gelato. In fact, I just made gelato today to serve to dinner guests tonight. Deep dark chocolate gelato. It was really good (if I may say so myself
It’s pretty awesome. And tempting. It’s in the same lot with the pharmacy where I pick up my meds, so every time I refill my medication I need a froyo chaser.
A new ice cream joint just opened near Powell’s and yesterday they offered specials to Powell’s employees. I had an ice cream sandwich made with two chocolate chip cookies filled with a generous serving of Mexican chocolate ice cream, which I believe had a bit of cayenne in it as well as cinnamon. Yummm. Eeeeeee.
OH! Wow. I want that right now.
yum!!!!
Just had a new (to me) ice cream from Ben and Jerry’s. Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone Dream. Vanilla Ice Cream, fudge covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl. OMG…amazing!!!! http://peasantswithpitchforks.com/point/2007/02/16/stephen-colberts-sweet-truth
Ben and Jerry’s, yum! I love AmeriCone Dream. My favorites for Ben and Jerry’s are Cherry Garcia and Chunky Monkey.
Chocolate Fudge Brownie is my fav. Although AmeriCone Dream is a close second!
I love Pecans and Cream… and if I am having soft serve ice cream, it has to be from the Dairy Queen with I go with a chocolate dip….
Mm, nice and simple, but classic and delicious.
Ice cream is a must. I love rocky road, pistachio, vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Just about any flavour will do. The ice cream truck comes around the neighborhood and they serve a 99; which is a soft serve vanilla with a stick of flake. It is really nice. Flakes are made by Cadbury. It is a stick of super crumbly yummy chocolate. They sometimes drizzle a raspberry or strawberry sauce over the top too. mmmmm. Oh man I love hot fudge Sunday’s too.
I’m with you, any flavor. And I’m usually a purist but every now and then the hot fudge craving comes on. Never chocolate syrup. Has to be hot fudge.
I like both! Not together mind you. But sometimes there’s nothing quite as good as a bowl of vanilla ice cream and a little Hershey’s chocolate syrup. But for special occasions… Hot fudge sundaes ROCK!
