On the Road Again….

by Kathleen O'Reilly on June 29, 2012

Yes, I’m in the middle of my trans-coastal air/road trip! I’m here at Dallas, where it’s HOT, HOT, HOT. Yes, I hadforgotten how hot Texas can be. I was supposed to arrive on Monday evening, but EVIL Delta airlines decided to cancel my connection from Salt Lake City to Dallas. Hey, I have nothing against Salt Lake City, but I didn’t plan on spending the night there, you know? Weather related cancellations I’m fine with, mechanical cancellations, yeah, OK, but this was for no other reason than (I suspect) there wasn’t enough butts on the plane. Really, Delta? Really?

Yes, they paid for a hotel room. Yes, they gave me $18 in food vouchers, because you know, everybody can eat breakfast and dinner on $18, but I just wanted to be home. Sigh.

Sorry, just needed to whine. The good news is that we’ll be cruising down I35 next week, and I’m hoping to meet up with my other two sisters in whine and perhaps partake insome fine Mexican cuisine. It’s almost enough to make me forgive Delta.

Almost.

So, how about y’all? Any companies on your ‘Really?’ list? Anything you want to whine about? Preparing for summer holidays? Happy that it’s Friday?

My whine is that my dad living with me is causing endless stress on me, my family, and has us all on edge all the time! I love him, but the man does not understand boundaries, or rules, and he doesn’t possess a social filter, so he makes really bad, embarrassing jokes around people like the piano tuner, hot water tank installer guys, and furniture repairmen. Oh and my housekeeper. He would not leave her alone today! And his dog! OMG!!!!!

Sherri, it might be time for you to brave the heat and come back to Texas for a few days.

It’s about the same weather right now, I think.

At least you weren’t stuck on the plane for 5 hours, off & on.. like these poor people

I’d really like some rain here in the midwest!

My water heater blew a gasket yesterday. Really? Right after I’ve invested and promised to invest more in renovations? You couldn’t make it another year??

Can’t wait to see you!!

Julia London, MORE renovations? Oh, that sounds like chez O’Reilly. :)

Can’t wait to see y’all too! I think we’ll be hitting the road next Friday AM. Need to be in Mickey World on Sunday night, so i think that’s enough time to make it, assuming that Florida is no longer underwater.

Not jealous of Ms. London, having just gone through a hot water heater replacement. And of course, it was the propane forced air tank that cost double the normal tank.

My whine is that I have too many things to do and not enough time to do them. Every day seems to pass in a blur and before I know it it’s time to start dinner! I feel as if I’m falling more and more behind and can’t catch up. Where are the days going???

Jacquie, my philsophy is that if I can’t finish the things I need to do, then I need to knock some things off the list. Usually laundry, vacuuming, and exercising. :)

My Really list is too long to list. I am just glad it is Friday and we have the weekend off.
July 20th is when the kids get out of school here. We have no summer plans. Just work work work.
I wish that man I married would hurry up and win the lotto. I don’t need millions. Just enough to live on. That is my whine!

Wow, July 20th? ti, and I thought NY ran schools late. How long do they have off for summer break? And I’ll cross my fingers that Mr. Ti hits the jackpot. :)
