Thursday Already?

by Julia London on May 17, 2012

I’m late this morning and here is why.  I have been consumed with taking out a half wall the last two weeks, a project that grows a little every day.  Moose…you can see him there, peeking around the counter’s end, is afraid of plastic and does not like a lot of strange men in the house.  I think this is a good thing.  But it means I have had to shuttle him back and forth to doggie day care, and try and get him to eat around the chaos.  And while you can’t tell it from looking at this picture, it’s almost done!!

This weekend I will be running in the Beach to Bay Marathon Relay.  I’m leg 2, 4.67 miles on a park road.  It’s flat.  That’s great, because the third leg is over the causeway bridge.  No thank you.  But here is the thing.  Last year, our team won our Senior Mixed Masters Division.  We were world champions of the Geezer Marathon Relay Teams primarily because there were only two teams.  This year, there are six.  The pressure is on to defend our world title, but dudes, I am the slowest one on the team, by a minute a mile.  So that means if we lose by minutes, You Know Who will be eyed suspiciously as the cause.  Oh, and by the way, if you haven’t visited Running for Burgers, I hope you will.

This morning I woke up at 4 am realizing just how much time I have to finish my WIP before deadline.  I can’t be doing remodeling projects while I am trying to meet a deadline!!  I have to stop the madness!

I will stop the madness, I promise I will, just as soon as I find a new rug to go with my new furniture in my new living room.  This has been tons of fun, but I wish I was spending someone else’s money.

What’s made you crazy this week?   What distractions are you dealing with?  Are you on target to meet your deadlines, whatever they are?

I’ll tell you what’s making me crazy : hot flashes. OMG. And within seconds of one ending I’m then freezing. On with the sweatshirt, off with the sweatshirt. All day long. UGH!

I’m joining you in the CRAZY! But first off, go, JULIA LONDON, RUN LIKE THE WIND! I know you can do it, and I know you’ll beat the Depends off the other old-geezer team. Second of all, the renovations look awesome! If schedule permits, I will jaunt to Austin to see them in person and touch the limestone :)

As for this week, it’s nuts. Tomorrow is NYSSMA (NY’s version of UIL),Saturday is audition in city and soccer game, Sunday is recital, followed by concert (the daughter will be doing the diva thing and running from place to place in concert attire!). On Monday, life gets a LITTLE better. But I have project due next week, (hoping to finish tomorrow because it’s only supposed to take two days)….

The room looks amazing! I love it so much opened up like that. Well done! I am in Manhattan for a few days. There’s a carpet place next to my hotel with just the thing, if you don’t mind spending a bit. Will take a picture next time I walk by. Go run really fast! Have fun.

the room is coming along soooooo well! Congrats! Have a great race this weekend! As for me, was looking forward to a Catching-up weekend. Um, no. Tomorrow, Piano Recital AND a book club at our house (yes, they overlap; yes, it’ll be crazy). Saturday, C is performing at the high school with her glee club. Sunday, C and her Girl Scout troop are hosting a neighborhood party in a park. Hmmm. Seems like my eldest child is the one sucking my time :) must speak to her about that …..

Oh, and I have magnetic letters and a board for you (yes, I’m dumping all of my kid toys on you). Will drop them by soon so I can see the renov in progress!!!!!! (Or finished, whatever the case may be)

You will just have to bring Moose on the run with you. Too bad you are not closer or you could take my Luna-tic with you.

Stay on track and do not allow small distractions stop you from reaching your goal. I know you can do it!

Hey and good luck with that marathon. Better you than me. I run 2 steps and I am gasping for breath.

The ONLY thing I have to worry about right now is getting through tomorrow. Last day of work and then I am OFF! -does the I am off work for a week dance- Man I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

Revisions Revisions were the words of the week here! But yes, I hit my deadline and now am heading out for some well-deserved (at least in my mind) R&R! Living room looks like it’s coming along nicely! And Moose is probably loving doggy day care. I know Max does. He always comes home exhausted.

I’ve created a monster. Now, he won’t even eat his breakfast. He sits by the door leading to the garage waiting for me to take him. Next week, the dog is going to be very disappointed.

The room is looking nice. Can’t wait to see pics of the finished work!

About 1.5 weeks ago, I suffered an injury in karate. The cartilage separated from my rib. Very painful, I might add. Needless to say, it has affected my work, my workout, and everyday chores/life. I am missing all kinds of deadlines and it is driving me crazy. I just cannot understand why my body doesn’t heal at the same rate it did when I was 20! ;)

Man that sounds really painful! Take care of yourself! A little pampering is always a good thing!
