It was an exciting week here at Casa D’Alessandro as our son graduated from college! Yes, it is now official–the boy is a University of Georgia grad, with a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. YAY! Thought I’d share a few pics of the event (’cause we only took like 6,000 photos
).
The ceremony took place on campus last Friday and to say that we were punch drunk with pride is an understatement.
My parents came to the ceremony and it was great that we were all together (especially nice that I got to be with my mom on Mother’s Day!).
That evening we dined at a lakeside restaurant then enjoyed the music of the jazz trio that plays there. We danced and laughed and had ourselves a wonderful time.
I hope your week is going well! What’s going on with you? What have you been up to?

Congrats to all of you!! I spent the weekend doing the same thing- our oldest grandson graduated from college this weekend. And we got to meet our great grand daughter for the first time too. I’m still recuperating.
Thanks everyone! We had such a great day. I just can’t understand how this kid got so old yet we remain so young and fresh lol!
Congrats, Jacquie and Chris! Great news. I bet he’s very excited. Our week is going well, but it’s CRAZY-busy. Concerts, Concerts, tests, projects, more concerts, audition, etc, etc, etc… I always forget how crazy May is.
May with school kids (pre college) is crazy busy! I do not miss that.
I must say what a handsome kid you have there! Congrats to you both, the graduate and the proud momma!
TWO MORE DAYS of work and I am OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF for a week. I cannot wait. That is what this week is about. Just getting through it to Saturday! Wish I could say it will be party time but I just want to wallow in bed and cuddle with the hubby all day.
Congratulations! Both to you and your son! How cool is that? And I love the picture at the bottom with the two of you. Talk about a beaming mother! And how fun that you got to be with your mom on mother’s day! I was in Boston picking up my daughter from college. So it was a great day for me too! She’s officially a sophomore!
Christopher makes a very handsome graduate, Jacquie, and I know you are all proud enough to burst. Big congratulations all around. I like the mom-son picture best.
My week is going great. We had a little wine and cheese party with a few of my husband’s colleagues last night. It was fun to hear about all the office politics and intrigues that we don’t really experience as writers working at home.
Congratulations!!!!! Nothing that exciting going on here. I’m just watching the roads to make sure a madwoman with a nail gun doesn’t head north on I-35….
Congratulations, Jacquie! I can’t believe that kid is all grown up, either. Job well done!
This week I have been in the throes of renovation and trying to write around some chatty builders, electricians and painters. Today, I am headed out for libraries and Starbucks or I might have to kill someone with a nail gun.
World-famous author goes on rampage with nail gun, news at eleven. Whine Sisters nod in unison, “Yep, that Julia London, she finally snapped.” People everywhere react to the story. “Well, she was having renovations done. No wonder.”
Wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day!! Congrats to all!
Congratulations to your son! That’s awesome! And what a great looking family you all are
BTW, What does one do with a degree in Internal Affairs?
My baby boy & oldest graduated the 1st weekend of May from James Madison University (VA) and I was just like you–so proud but in shock that my baby had grown up so fast!
Congratulations to you and your graduate, Michelle! They really do grow up fast.
Congrats to Chris on graduating. Good luck with whatever he decides to do now!! Congratulations to his parents and grandparents are, of course, in order as well. I’m sure he’s grateful for your support. The whole day does sound like a great day.
