Cosmo Girl!

by Dee Davis on April 17, 2012

As you guys probably already know, Deadly Dance, the fifth book in my A-Tac series, was featured in the May issue of Cosmo as its Hot Read!   As you probably also already know, I’m really excited about it.  I read Cosmo religiously when I was younger.  And still like to flip through the pages from time to time to see what’s hot and what’s not!

Anyway, for those of you who love the magazine as much as I do, my publisher, Grand Central, is giving away two subscriptions to Cosmo this Friday.  For a chance to win, go to the Forever Website and comment!  Hey, it’s never too late to be a Cosmo girl!  I’m living proof!!!

So what about you?  Did you, do you, ready Cosmo?   What is your favorite part?  (I love the quizzes).   What other magazines are a must reads?  Do you read in print or online?  Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Wine Spectator is the only magazine we get right now. I need to investigate more online. I do look at USAToday online occasionally, like Jacquie. And I have the Life Mag app, which has some incredible photos.

Dee!!! How awesome! Now you will forever be a part of Cosmo history!

Magazines. Wow! As we evolve into our adultselves, we go through so many phases and changes. I remember TigerBeat and Teen. Oh and Seventeen. Then one day I just did not want them anymore. I love anything history or archaeology, so National Geographic or Smithsonian are faves.

I personally collect regional cookbooks. You know, like the kind the church down the road makes with recipes from all the members. Or the kids at a school put together to make money for new playground equipment. Since moving here (to the UK) I have also started collecting localized regions; IE Country and Farmhouse recipes from Yorkshire. I also LOVE antique and ancient recipe books. Tori had a report on Ancient Rome so we sought out several really cool sites with recipes from there. So in keeping with what your topic is, I love recipe magazines that have specials like Carribean or Tapas or Provinicial France. Also I love recipe magazines with super easy super cheap super quick recipes.

I think I actually started with a magazine called American Girl! Way back when. And I love regional (and country) cookbooks. Have loads from Austria. And a great Polish one. As well as some from Cornwall. Among others.

Huge congrats, Dee–so exciting! I actually picked up my copy yesterday at Publix but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. I’ve never read Cosmo regularly but it’s a Must Buy for me whenever I’m in an airport. I read USA Today online (they have a great free app) and US Weekly and People in print. Am also a sucker for the Enquirer :) Also love the Food Network mag and Taste of Home–great recipes. And I like to pick up Coastal Living now and then. Oh, and we also get Tennis magazine. Jeez–that’s alot of magazines! it’s amazing I have time to do anything else, LOL!

I’ve thought about getting the Food Network Magazine before. Now I’ll have to try it for sure. And I do like Real Simple when I buy it on occasion.

Congrats on being a COSMO Gal.. Back in my teenage years, and into my twenties, I was reading COSMO, but now I just read it if it happens to be in the doctor office or somewhere similar…

Dee, that is majorly cool. Congrats, girl!

I read Cosmo religiously in my younger days. Now, it’s just the occasional read while at the hair salon.

That’s pretty much me too these days. And in airports and doctor’s offices. But it’s still a lot of fun to read!!!!

YAY, Dee! Thrilled for you. Can we call you Dee “Hot Reads” Davis now? No? I haven’t read Cosmo in years, but I have to admit I am excited about having a good excuse to pick one up. And once I get one in my hot hands, I might have to buy them every month. Oh, Cosmo, genius marketing. And then I’ll want a cosmo to go with my Cosmo, the mag and the drink… I think this calls for drinks all around. Cosmos for everyone!

P.S. You would have made a much kuter kover girl than Khloe Kardashian! :)

Oh but look- this issue will also tell us how to feel great naked! And in fine print, it looks like the answer is to lose weight. Hahaha. No kidding.

Congratulations, Dee! Free publicity is the BOMB.

I used to read Cosmo when I was younger. Now I read Time. How boring is that? Pretty boring, considering I skip over half the articles as too involved for me to get into, LOL

That is like my reading the Times which is a huge endeavor to handle daily.

Congrats on being a Cosmo girl!

I used to read it in high school and college, but haven’t picked up an issue in years. Lately, I seem to be more of a Real Simple kinda girl, LOL.
